BTW - I forgot to add - I waited (or rather, stumbled upon) the BMW sale around thanksgiving/black friday time. I *think* they were something like 2800 but went down to about 2200. Seems a lot but like I said, calculating the £80 (tyres on the drive now charge this :-/) swapover and about same for storage (house won't take them). Another £80. So that's £320 a year(!), the cost of the other tyres (say £1200 for argument's sake).

So (this is from memory - work it out for yourself)

BMW option in sale -> £2200 (then sell the rims after lease ends four years)
Self option -> Tyres (£1200) four years of the re-fitting/storage (£1280) = £2480
(sure would use > 1 set in that time, but that's true for either option)

Looking at that again I must have screwed it up somewhere - but after a few glasses of Rioja I can't figure how :-) . Either way - after the lease end, assuming you look after your lovely BMW rims, get on Ebay. Sure, other people like teaston have gone non-BMW for cheaper - which look equally as cool with less resale value (although to be fair less initial outlay too!).

Have fun. BTW the X3 is a tractor in the snow with winters.
