My 740d xdrive will also do it but none of my RWD M cars have ever done it, it's the front wheels I put it down to the xdrive system binding a bit and the awkward angle.

I get similar on my F90 so also think its the xdrive system, to be fair my SQ5 would do it occasionally too...
