It's the semi-autonomous mode, if you will. Adds the radar (or lidar?) so it can maintain distance when using cruise control and will keep you in your lane. Not sure if it's hands free, as I haven't even really had the chance to use mine. It's kind of a hassle to activate and it kept squawking at me to keep my hands on the wheel.
I dunno, some people love it. Depends on what style of driver you are and what the majority of your driving is. Also if you love new tech, you might be more interested. I could go without it, but that's just me.
You should be able to do the build on the BMW site and it will tell you what that package does.
