New X3MC Owner - 3 Months

Hi Everyone!

Wanted to wait a few months after taking a lease on my X3MC, and give some objective analysis on my experience becoming a member of the "M" family.

Ride

First off, as I'm sure others have noted, X3MC is not a smooth ride. You feel every bump, hump and ridge in the road. That's expected because tight handing is in place and meant to help assure when you corner at 90mph/144kph you need to grab all the pavement you can. Nothing you control in the console can change this. Even in the most basic ride modes, it’s very rough.

Interior

This is something I believe BMW M has done well with. It's very tight but well done in terms of aesthetics. It's not perfect and needs a lot of improvement, but this is step in the right direction. On my X3MC the white leather is striking in contrast to the grey exterior, which is ideal in a hot climate. There are multiple USB-A plugs both in the console and dash and Apple wireless charging in the console. The back has climate controls.

Exterior

This is where I think the X3MC shines, honestly. This is one of the most gorgeous vehicles on the road you will see this year. The competition spec has very aggressive styling alongside 21 inch rims and calipers which I can assure your friends will notice. The black kidney grille badged with “M” will draw eyes while you sit at a traffic light, promised. The lowered stance charges anyone with a Mustang or Vette to grab their sack and challenge, which in this monster they will lose.

Power

The reason I didn’t cite this as the main reason you want this X3MC spec is because frankly, the power the Competition spec has is insane. Upon delivery, I was told to to be gentle below the 1200 mile mark which is required for service maintenance. During that initial break in period, my sales team told me my X3MC had 510 or so HP. When I was released from the break in, it turned out the X3MC is capable of over 517 HP or higher. This is not only enough for American roads but can smole almost anything road-worthy here in the states because the X3MC midrange transmission is faster on shift off the line, which results in a massive 0-60mph under 4 secs.

Conclusion

This is not a conclusive review, but my opinion as a new X3MC owner. I’m happy to answer questions and post updates.
