In regards to your timeout error, I'm not sure as it could be a number of things.
I would recommend setting it all up again to re-read the data:
1- Turn the computer off
2- Turn the computer on
3- Turn the car off
4- Turn the car on (not the engine, but the accessories)
5- Plug the ETH cable
6- Open ESYS
7- Connect to car
8- Read data
