I'll just recommend to go slowly and carefully. Start with the kindest, friendliest soap you can think of, and slowly work your way up. And definitely try it on small spots that are out of view. There's the section of seat that's closest to the firewall of the car, it's somewhat vertical. I would bet the dress never touched it, but you could consider rubbing the dress on it - it'd be a spot to practice cleaning, where if you messed up a little no one else would ever know.

I can't say what works best, but personally I'd probably be going for a leather cleaner. Find some known brand with good reviews and start there. I am not saying the other suggestions are wrong, only what I'd probably do.
