So my fingers are right against the glass pulling back on the frame. There is a slight bend there so you can get a good grip with your fingers up against the windows glass. This is right over my left shoulder. But the window is closed fully while doing this. Then my thumb is on the inside of the cabin. With that grip you can pull the door closed a bit. That caused my noise to decrease dramatically. Sorry for the confusion. I hope that helps a bit.
I tried this too, and noticed some noise reduction as you indicated, but I think this was primarily due to the fact that my left hand was right next to my ear when pulling back on the frame, thus shielding my ear from any/all noise.....??
