I think your comment in relation to the US is a fair statement. I am aware of a specific manufacturer that builds the same vehicle in the US as other parts of the world, yet the fit and finish isn't quite up to scratch. Which doesn't make sense to some degree, as you would expect the parts etc to be identical.

Maybe the cost was driven down to enable them to build them in the US, who knows.
