Below is my experience from another forum last year. I've since read posts that indicate that the problem is with cold solder joints on the rear-light assembly mini-circuit boards. Try searching for "cold solder joint"

We have Xenon headlamps which, I understand, gets you an upscale rear lighting package. LED maybe?
