A few of the tracks I have looked at attending do not even allow SUVs.

I paid the premium for the seats in my M3 more than the fenders, and they're about the offer the M sport seats in the X3/4 M40i so...

Now, after pushing my M3 toward the limits a bit, I think sticking with a full ///M will be a safer choice while the M-lites are gaining performance. I was looking at my M3 vs a M550i, so not quite a similar comparison as the X3M vs X3 M40i since it was a different class of car with a lot more tech and comfort and they were around the same money, but I'm certainly glad I made the choice. I'm scheduled for an M-Town tour test drive of the X3M in a couple of weeks, I have a strong feeling I'll end up with an X5 M50i (possibly an X7 but only because of children hauling duties) instead of the X3M in this battle, but if I was looking at an X3M vs X3 M40i, I wouldn't see a reason not to go with the full ///M, the price difference seems like a good bargain.
