The dealer is being very good to us. Invoice for the new X3 and a very good price on the trade in. Other than sales tax, registration, and dealer paperwork fees it's close to a wash (although the X3 is less expensive). I'm hesitant to say we "didn't like" the 328 -- I smile every time I look at it. I suspect if we'd known the X3 was coming out with a diesel in '15 we would have waited. I've attached pictures of our current ride and the new X3 we've ordered. My wife parked next to an X3 the other day and took a picture; you can really see the height difference.
