$6000 = 750 days driving (30 miles a day, 15 mpg = 2 gals/day @ $4/gal = $8/day). 6000/8 = 750.

So in 2 years, the cost could pay for itself in gas, more or less (not counting the cost of electricity).
But dont forget the X3e should be qualify for Federal tax rebate, which is about $5k I believe.
