I think that like some Range Rovers, BMW have chosen to fit lower rated tyres which then dictates needing to limit the 130MPH. The question is why do they want to limit most X3s to 130MPH? I wonder if it's down to the cost of tyres, ie keeping down replacement costs will help the running costs look lower for countries where tyre costs are taken into account.
