Surprised nobody's posted about this, especially since the Fecility Ace incident was just in February.

Freemantle Highway Auto Carrier Catches Fire, One Dead

Headed from Germany to Egypt and points East, apparently. 3,800 new cars, including 500 EVs. 350 Mercedes (not sure if any were EVs, but likely some). Fire has subsided and it's under tow to a salvage location off the Dutch coast. Certainly looks like it could burn through and sink like the Felicity Ace, though.

"As of now the cause of the fire is unknown, but there are reports that the fire “started in the battery of an electric car”, according to a recording of a radio transmission released by Dutch broadcaster RTL." (Source - GCaptain.com)

Pretty soon a significant fraction of the cost of a new German-made EV in the US is going to be the insurance you have to pay Lloyds to get it here, I'm afraid. At least it may encourage domestic US manufacturing...
