To be honest, I don't tend to adjust the EQ settings and I have left the sub at about 50% which is how it was when it was installed. I haven't felt the need to add a different amp and leaving it as it is now makes it a simple job to put the car back as purchased apart from leaving a run of power/earth cabling in case the next owner finds it useful.
