As I've written.....IF you have a hand held remote for your garage door USE IT to program the car's mirror garage opener. HOLD THAT HANDHELD REMOTE next to the mirror when you perform the programming. (most garage door openers are sold with 2 handheld remotes)
That's the advice I got from a BMW Genius after being frustrated that I couldn't easily program.........
