I use Firefox as my daily browser, but found it didn't work well for the "F12 trick." Could be something in my settings, I suppose.
Anyway, I used Microsoft Edge browser for this:
- Open browser and navigate to
https://login.bmwusa.com/
- Log in to your account
- Your ordered car should pop up
- Do NOT press "Track Status" or refresh the screen (yet). Instead press "F12"
- The normal screen is now minimized to the left. On the right window, select "Network" tab and "Fetch/XHR"
- Now you hit refresh on the browser. A bunch of computer code (files) shows up.
- You are looking for something like: "forwardGroupld" There may be several of them. Click each one and scroll to the right. Eventually, you will see data that makes sense to you, incl "Status code XXX."
As a bonus, you can also spot your MSRP as well as what I believe is the dealer's MSRP. You will also see details on other Bimmers you may have.
