Match UP 7BMW Amp Install
I ordered a Match UP Amp from Crutchfield yesterday. It was open-box which meant is was, all-in about $500 cheaper than a new Bimmertech or Bavasound amp.
I should have the amp Wednesday and will review. For now, the software from Audio-Tec Fischer is straightforward (Windows only), and, on paper, looks good.
The presets are by body-type only, and not "model" specific. ie. All SUVs have a preset. There is not a preset for the X3. I plan to tweak that preset once it is installed - bought a 15' USB cable for the job.
Attached is the spec sheet. The good? Burr Brown A/D and D/A... very good. The (not so) bad? 48kHz sampling rate. huh.... I would've hoped for 96kHz. I'm not sure with all the glass and (especially w/ factory speakers) that I would hear the difference, but generally that sampling rate leap gives you an imaging and clarity "feel" more than an obvious "hear" the difference.
I'm not up on car audio enough to know if the damping factor is anything to brag about these days. Hopefully it is enough to keep bass and mid-range tight.
spec sheet attached.
