We've shown you many looks at the exterior of the X4 prototypes, but no views of the X4 interior (not even on the concept X4), until now.

The X4's interior design is predictably similar to the X3, with which it shares a platform (see comparison photo). The new iDrive touch control knob can be seen. As with the X3, the X4 will be produced in Spartanburg. Expect the X4 to hit the market in the second half of 2014 - early 2015.

I don't mean to baSh, but I think this is one of the worst BMW interiors I've seen. Both on the X3 and now this too. There is no real sense of quality. The Q5 is much nicer IMO.

I can't believe that BMW has used the old interior design? I don't understand this.

The RR Evoque eats this interior all day

I think the point is that the speedometer is more like a 5/7 series speedometer than a typical x3 speedometer.

I would say that the idrive screen looks better like that than having a box stick out like it was an afterthough

looks the same to me. pretty boring but functional. after seeing the f32 take on the f30 interior, did you really think the x4 would be that much different from a car its based on?

I hope BMW doesn't shoot itself in the foot by spreading itself too thin and oversaturating the market with too many different models, which would likely affect the quality of the product.

I like the interior and dash very much. I like how they have the idrive screen integrated into the dash more than the free floating screen seen in the 3 and 4 series.

I like how the iDrive screen is incorporated into the dashboard like the F10/F07s, not attached on top like a fake iPad in the F30 (didn't know why BMW did this, the former design made it different from Audi & Mercedes).

However, the interior looks kind of plain and empty. Howabout a little more design, and some more wood trim would be nice

I was just going to say the opposite! I wish they made the move to the free floating screen like the 3/4 series and new X5! Once you drive with that screen you will not want to go back to the old version. At first I thought they looked odd just sticking out like that, but when driving its very nice and I see why they made the switch.

The other negative is it looks like an M Sport steering wheel but the old kinds, not the new ones they are using, I like the design of the F30 M sport steering wheel much better than the F25 one

Is anyone really surprised here?

x6 has x5 interior

4er has 3er interior

Maybe in the next generation they will differentiate them more. As for the design, I have test-driven many x3's and I never found myself disliking the interior. I drive an e46 ZHP (have for 7 and a half years) so maybe that is why? I do like that my e46 interior is simple and driver-oriented, perhaps interior design just isn't as important to me as performance, reliability and exterior design.

The 2014 X3s have that blacked-out instrument panels similar to 5/7 series.

This interior is somewhat disappointing. I was following the X4 in the other thread. I'm sure I read somewhere I think it was from this poster Scott26 that said the interior of the X4 would implement the newer interior BMW design language with the floating screen to differentiate it from the X3. I guess this person's information this time is wrong.

It's very nice. Not super exciting, but not bizarre either. I don't mind the free floating ipad type screen either, but it's so far from the driver I have trouble reading the small low contrast fonts. This would seem to solve that.

Even I was hoping too some new X5 style dash, it was not a surprise that they use X3 dashboard in this X4.

Maybe some sporty aluminium / carbon style panels are available.

That's all most chicks care about.

The RR is garbage because of the power train alone.
