UPDATED 4/25/13: Video of press conferences and BMW display (see below)

We were on hand to witness the BMW X4 Concept [Official Thread] making its world debut today at the 2013 Auto Shanghai. As the X4 Concept draws heavily on the design of the X6 SAC, it's very much a mini-X6 in the looks department. Expect certain elements on the concept model to be changed when the production version hits the market next year - notably the headlight lighting elements, front bumper, mirrors and door handles.

The interior was not showcased, but expect it to share an interior with the current F25 X3. Enjoy the images from the show below.

Holy Crap !

As much as the X6 shocked the work and left it confused and disgusted (for the main part)... this X4 is going to sell like hot buns...

Between this and the soon to be 4GC, i fear the 3 series sells and X3 (and 4 series) will be "hurt" a bit.

Not a blown headlight. It just means the shutter speed/frame rate of the camera is faster than the strobing of the LED coronas.

Hope the production car doesn't differentiate that much from the concept. I think the headlights and the taillights are the features that make this model aesthetically attractive.

My money is that those lovely headlights will not be changed but gone; in place will be same old, same old ones come production time... Shame

Yeah that's what the article says. Since these lights on the x4 and 4 series concept are so popular I'm sure we'll see them on a production car at some point. Maybe next 7 series.

When you say the interior was not showcased, do you mean that they just didn't show it or the concept is just an exterior shell?

We've already seen production spec 4 series including the top end LED lights option and they don't have the hexagonal concept LED lights.

That's an X6, and the refresh rate of the LED simply wasn't in sync with the shutter of the camera. If you watch certain videos of cars with LED lamps, they sometime appear to be flashing rapidly -- same effect.

I think it looks beautiful. The only thing I don't like is the fully exposed kidney grills but maybe that will change for production. It seems that the size of the X4 fits that style better then the X6.

Only thing I don't like is the fact that it'll be smaller than an x3 but cost more, just like the x5 and x6. grrr. I like the look of the car though!!

This is going to sell like hot cakes.
My only fear is about the interiour, which in the F25 is pretty bland, and not very premium looking imo.
The E70 are miles better looking inside, but is older.
Now, i really hope the X4 stands abit more out than it's sibling.
But seeing the X5 and X6, i fear not!

About the concept, i hope we'll see the headlights.
The mirrors and door handles screams concept though, and will be gone.

I would rather a BMW be taking another BMW's sales than an Audi or Merc. But the 2 series GC is what I'm waiting for and expecting to draw alot of sales.
