Alternate Tire Size for 245/50-18
Wondering if there was another more common tire size than the factory 245/50-18. Would like more of a selection of tires but don't want to affect speedometer readings, etc.

My 2012 35i with sport package came with 245/45-19" tires on all wheels. I plan to change for non runflat 235/50-19". I dont like the existing low profile and prefer the non run flat tires. It will only have a small effect on the speed reading, that I can live with. As far as the runflat issue is concerned, I cant remember the last time I had a flat tire.

19" rim dimensions and tire size
Quote:
The dimensions of the 19 inch double spoke alloy wheels are as follows: 8,5Jx19 EH2+ with an offset of 38mm. We do not recommend any tires with an aspect ratio higher than 45 for the 19inch wheel base. This is a result of extensive testing by BMW AG. Any non approved changes to the tire or wheel package would make the vehicle unpredictable and could cause issues with the suspension/steering. Do you really believe BMW CANADA on this issue? ![]() |
