Inadequate Sun visor
On a post by 3Bimmer "A slightly differant view of the X3" (thanks), there was this link concerning the sun visors being too short and basically not doing what they're supposed to do: http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtest...rs-needed.html .
I definitely have this problem in the morning and late afternoon and must say it's really an ordeal as I often have the sun beating on me for up to 2 hours on some of my drives. The sun seems to always find that gap between the visor and the B pillar!!! Till now I haven't found a solution other than taping a piece of cardboard on the visor (I actually didn't do that yet). Anyway, does anyone have a decent remedy or does BMW have a replacement? |

I've never noticed a gap but that is probably more down to "inadequate sun" in the UK!

I have the same concern...my previous japanese car's visors arm can be extended. I was thinking of swapping the visor & hoping it will fit.

I have an issue with the low sun either early or late. I wish I'd order the tinted band at the top of the screen. Had it on my last car and didn't think it did much. I presume you get a retro fit from a 3rd party glass tinter- but it's I think I'll just put up with it.

BMW should look at adding double visors so you can also cover the side windows. Had a VW Toureg with it and it was great on twisty UK roads with the low winter sun

I have had the same problem before, with the side window.
Just use a post card or a piece of stiff card. Push this up between the glass and the door rubber. It stays there and blocks the sun. When the car/sun moves you pull down the post card and place a little further along the window. |
