gps recording location

ya know on a iphone you can pull up maps and then drop a pin on yr current location>? why doesnt the gps in bmw/s do that? seems like a pretty basic function. Unless it can and Im missing it. the idea being that if yr someplace you can record it in destinations and then the next time you want to drive there you can just bring it up.

Nav menu -> Address Book -> Option button -> Store position as new contact

I think that will do what you want.

It's the option button on the iDrive controller.

what i found by playing around is you bring the map up in nav and then push the idrive and a screen comes up and one of the buttons is select location. push the idrive and then that loc is stored in contacts. I did it once, but when I tried to find it again I couldnt. I think you have to have to nav off, in other words, you cant be enroute someplace and do it.
