Driving along yesterday on the main road and all of the sudden the interior lights go on and I hear the chime.
I looked down on the dash and my right passenger door was open. What in the world? Has anyone else had this issue and what was the cause/issue? I know for a fact the door was shut tight, because I closed it myself. |

This happened to me once while it was freaking cold. The door was frozen tight and I couldn't open it. What happened was that while I've tried to open the frozen shut door, I actually opened the lock. The handle went back as normal when I released it, but the locking system stayed open because of the frost. When I was driving, the temperature was rising in the car and door. The frost in the door lock disappeared and it opened during driving. I was at a stopsign then, so everything was ok ![]() |
