An accident sign showing on the dashboard and HID - XBimmers

I have a question about the dashboard warning sign. Today, when I drive in the highway, a warning sign, 'Accident', suddenly showed up on my dashboard. My car is 2011 x3 35i. At that time, I did not feel anything wrong about my car. About 2 or 3 mins later, the warning sign turned off itself. When I got home, I checked my car again. Everything looks good. Did anybody see that sign? It is show up as the word 'Accident' and a small pic about a car hit another car. I looked up the user manual and found no hint about this. Did anybody know what is going on? Thank you very much.

? Do you have navigation, and does it display traffic data on the screen and HUD? It may be just information about an accident that you were coming up to on the roadway.

Yes. I have the navigation and traffic data.

It's just alerting you the there is an accident ahead.

Interesting. I never noticed such a warning sign on the instrument clutter though NAV screen displays such information.

I haven't seen the 'accident' alert but recently I did get a 'traffic jam' alert on the instrument panel display (not the navagation display). Likely same function that flashed the 'accident' alert.

I got the Traffic Jam one in LA (imagine that). I think it mostly depends on the area you live in, some areas may not broadcast the data in the same way so you might not see those kinds of alerts as much.
