X3 keeping up with Cars on autocross!!! (pics and Video)

Took the X3 out with the local BMW club to a track day yesterday. First time taking the X3 out and first time running on the track EVER. I surprised a lot of people including myself on how well the X3 did on the track. Some of the other vehicles racing on the track included a E36 (modded), Supercharged E46, E90 328xi touring, 2012 M5, 2009 M5, E71 X6M, Lambo LP540, Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6, a type R EK civic hatch with suspension mods and a few others.

The LP 540 was the fastest at 47 seconds, the M5 ran 48 or 49 seconds, the Genesis ran 55 seconds, and the Civic ran around 54 seconds.

The best time I ran was 51.4 seconds around the track. The X6M did considerably worse (over a minute). X6M owner thought I was stock but I was running JB3 (set up at 3.75PSI over stock) and he couldn't understand why my X3 was doing so well lol.

Needless to say, I've fallen that much MORE in love with my X3. On to pics and the Video!!!

Love following your threads, have to say your X3 is sic. How bad was your mileage in the track and is this being impacted by the tune so far?

Thanks! The X3 has really surprised me on how well it did. By the third run, I was getting used to the track and it just ate up those corners like it was a race car. It loved getting tossed around. As for gas mileage, I didn't really look but 3 runs and a 10 mile drive there and back only took a quarter of a tank. I was also running Lucas racing formula Octane booster just incase I had a batch of bad gas. The tune doesn't impact my gas mileage at all... its my foot that does

I might up it a bit next month for the next track day.... perhaps run Meth on 93 octane with 5PSI boost Gotta do some more research firstAny one ever ran Meth injection?

Fiddy, next time out you'll have to mount a GoPro camera to your car or inside your car to capture the action.

Were you manually shifting the transmission or did you just leave it in DS mode?
