why is there velcro on the seatbelt?

I noticed in my 2013 X3 28i that the seat belt receiver on both driver and passenger sides has velcro on it. Does anyone know why it's there?

Just curious.

To prevent it rattling against the centre console.

Even my VW had it. It's just felt to keep it quiet.

That is a great feature. I didn't think to post it on that other thread, but that's a very nice bit of attention to detail. The car isn't gonna be perfect, they're gonna miss some thing, and we're going to have different preferences, but that bit there shows the intent of BMW. I like it.
