First Face Off for BMW M3 DTM vs Audi & Mercedes by Way of Media Day

The BMW M3 DTM cars are set to take on their Audi and Mercedes Benz rivals for real and for the first time in just over two weeks at Hockenheim (on April 29), but the race cars first face off in this photo session from Media Day, where for the first time the final DTM cars were revealed together. This will be BMW’s first DTM race since October 11, 1992.

Subject to the same regulations, the three German marquees' cars share similar general aero bits and styling, but each also maintains the essence of the respective models' styling cues - grilles, lights, and the like.

I think its cool that they all profess their love for the same four-legged snails.

But wow the cars look fantastic, and this is going to be a very exciting series.

Does anyone know if they all share the same engines, or is each engine designed and built seperately by each manufacturer to the same specs (4.0L V8)? If the latter, I wonder if BMW uses a P60-based design, or something newer like an S65-based design, or maybe something new from the ground up.

That's Bruno Spengler, he was in DTM last year and I believe he ran for Mercedes-Benz.

Yes, I believe so. I want to say they're all 4.0L putting out close to 500 HP

I wish they would incorporate half halo leds on new m3. They look so much more aggressive than current approach. Love it
