Doing 60mph on cruise control in flat lowlands at around 0 deg Celsius I got just a tick over 6 litre, which translates into 39mpg (US). Pretty neat, I say.
At 100mph constant on cruise control on the autobahn in slightly hilly country at around 10 deg Celsius over 45 minutes consumption is around 9 litre, or 26mpg (US). The increase in consumption between 60mph and 90mph seems pretty linear, the last 10mph cost maybe one litre (just an estimation). Btw, done 1800km/1100mls so far. Overall consumption 30mpg (US). |

Thing I found that BMW could easily change with a software update.
Issue: When you select a radio station with the idrive knob you have to take the hand off the knob to adjust loudness (either via the radio knob, or the steering wheel buttons). Solution: BMW should assign loudness plus/minus to the knob up/down function. Would be more in line with the HOTAS (hands on throttle and stick) concept they try to mimic with their iDrive. |

# Performanance Control - YES. That was part of the "Austria Plus Package" BMW is offering here. # Servotronic - YES. That was also part of the "Austria Plus Package". |

Thanks. Useful to hear that standard suspension works well with this combo. How do you find Servotronic? oppinions seem to be very divided on how it affects low speed steering feel.

Can't complain. It's very "transparent" and natural. There's no threshold speed where you could feel the transition between the higher level of support to the lower level. At high speeds it becomes very direct and quite sensitive, but always remains nicely precise. Low speed feel - enough I'd say. For a SUV it's a very nice steering.
