I bet that earlier "in production" message on June 14 was wrong (normally should say "scheduled for production" at that point). Probably went into production yesterday. I don't know about US built X3's but my German-built Z4 status changed quite a bit once the car went into production, however it was about 24 hours behind the actual happenings.
