Rev limiter in the US?

Anyone know what the top speed is limited to on the 35i in the US? My buddy was going 147 in his porche, I assume the x3 won't win . Pick mine up Tuesday and just curious where it tops out.

It's limited to 130 as with most cars. I think you buddy's car is maybe limited to 150 or 155, that seems to be the speed that many cars are raised to when they get it raised from the factory.

This is quoted from the CNET review:

"This engine enables the X3 xDrive35i to sprint from 0 to 60mph in just 5.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 150mph when fitted with the optional Sport Package."

Which one though? Just the sport activity package or the actual one though? I hope just SAP! Not that I have ever gone that fast, just want to know I can beat my buddy. I can kill him on 0-60.

Only with the Sports Activity Package can you go 150. Don't know why you'd want to go that fast in a car with a drag coefficient over 0.31

For Cdn cars, the MSport pkg raises max to 240km (or 149mph in non-metric-speak). Again, not sure I want to go that fast in an X3, but nice to know you could?!

To make it official, my 35i (US) w/ SAP - not MSport, is limited at 130mph, and my tires are rated for 149mph (V). In case someone is searching in the future... Though it is much more fun to find out for yourself.
