April Build? - XBimmers

Anyone in the US able to get an April build date? My dealership said all they had was March until at least the end of feb. I just want a build dat and frankly just want to make sure they have a clue.

I was hoping for pcd but they said that would push it to at least may, does that make sense?

I have exactally the same problem. I talked to Customer Service and they indicated BMW Sales sets the process and when the dealer gets his allocation released is the first time you can order PERIOD. Well two things: 1) If they really want people to pick up cars at the PDC, then the process needs to be like European Delivery. When you order, you get a delivery date within one week. I have done 5 ED's and never had a ,problem with pick up dates in Munich. My guess is that X3 PCD is a marketing ploy, not really a serious attempt to get you to the factory. 2) In fact althogh the dealer has my specs and a $1K deposit, my wife is going to look at a CL350 next week. If she likes it, she will buy it -- after she has owned 3 X3's. BMW looses a evey other year customer because of their sales policy on allocations. Faouls (Fools mixed with Foul Balls) be they.

Just a thought. Anything to do with the commencement of worldwide production for M pack and 30d models in April. Perhaps April dedicated to those models?

Could be that April is being used to clear the massive backlog of xDrive20d orders
