So my dealer is still saying July delivery for new orders, which I don't believe. Another said ordering now for October. I have asked for 01 Sept delivery. Might those sharing my wait care to log their status for quick comparisons?-

UPDATED:

Order actually confirmed now with estimated delivery of 7th Oct. I don't yet have a build date so this could be revised again.

Ordered end oct 2010 dealer today says available 24 feb. In transit, however, can't find it on a ship anywhere!!

haha - that's my own conservative estimate. I think it will be before but I really have no idea because my dealer still hasn't given me a delivery date. Last indication was "early Feb" and last status "departed plant" but I know it will be in Southampton on Monday - any idea on estimate of time from arriving at Southampton to being ready to pick up at dealer? 1 week? 2?

Won't be long before I dust off that camera....

Just to comment, evidence above that regardless of model, the 5 month wait for 2010 orders has, by Feb 2011, become a 7 month wait. Useful concrete info possibly backing up snippets elsewhere for those about to order. With your agreement, it might be useful to post changes here too, as you have to fear for delays in light of strong demand. It also suggests that those awaiting a 3.0d test drive in the UK may have to wait until September. Dealers really do not seem to grasp the length of delay until orders are placed which is a bit surprising as in some cases they appear to be promising delivery deals they cannot deliver.

Total days from order to delivery = [No. of days given by dealer when deposit taken] + 30 days + (6 x b)

where b is bullsh!t factor and ranges from 0 to 10

For me it's 60 + 30 + (6 x b) = 127 => My dealer's bullsh!t factor is 6.2

N.B. Even if your dealer has a bullsh!t factor of 0, your original estimate will still be optimistic by 1 month

Should also include Pi in the formula, tho sadly I think my dealer ate it. Wonder what impact the start of 3.0d production on 01/04/11 will have on all this? Anyone heard anything from the factory side?

Ordered November 6th first I got ETA week 34 no it's accelerated to ETA week 22. Car should be produced in week 12 and adding 10 weeks for shipment that is delivery time in beginning of June. Dealer told me they used production slots from countries who not had ordered the amount of cars who was calculated by BMW.

Welcome to the forum Viking. Very nice spec and good choice of colours

First UK order I've seen with VDC I think. Did you test drive one with VDC? I was in two minds and wasn't sure if the sport settings were worthwhile in the 2 litre. Also, no-one seems to know if Normal mode in VDC gives a smoother ride than an X3 with no VDC. Hope I don't rue the decision to leave it out.

You're quite near me. Is that a Cooper Reading order?

Not surprisingly the new X3 is a runaway success and the UK is not the only country with long waiting lists on the X3 particular the 20d and 30d xDrive models.
