Called the dealer couple of days ago and told me that system shows my car's status as "assembly complete" and the eta by system is 1st week of April however the dealer is still optimistic about having it delivered by 3rd week of March. Not sure which estimate to consider here...

Ooh
I just got a call from my dealer. The car is further ahead than I was expecting. I thought the car was on the ship Integrity with an ETA at Southampton of 5th March.
It turns out I was wrong. The car is already in good old blighty and is sitting at the vehicle distribution centre. It should arrive at the dealer next Monday (5th of March) and I should be able to pick it up a few days after that

I've got my registration number already - a shiny new '12' plate.

I can't wait. Having said that, judging by other people's experiences, I have been really fortunate. I ordered the car just before the end of December 2011 and am expecting delivery just over 2 months later. Nice job Williams Rochdale

Nice one Bob - don't forget we have not seen any UK members pictures for a while so we need some high quality pics the day you collect

Got my 30D

I now have my M Sport 30D.

As earlier, having failed on the UK Car Discount route, I found the colour & features I wanted as a demonstrator with only 1000 on the clock and registered 4 weeks before.

It was delivered to my home on Friday.

The only thing I have found wrong was a 'kerbed' rear alloy. The dealer apololgised that it had been sent out like that and readily agreed to its sorting.

Attached are some of the dealer advert photos.

I pushed it a little bit this afternoon, the acceleration of the 30D is great. (I only justified it to SWMBO as being a better towcar than the 20D

Instead of posting a new thread thought I'd ask here.
Just ordered a 2.0d SE Auto, what kind of actual MPG are people getting on that engine gearbox combo?

Thanks guys...think I'd be happy with 35 mpg - never can get to the manufacturers figures! Still good for the size / type of vehicle.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all of you. Been looking at getting one these for since we found out we were having a kid (Z4 Coupe couldn't fit the missus as well as the kid!!) Your posts have been a great help. I finally pulled the trigger and got a 30d MSport - prof media pack, visibility pack and a whole load more - Carbon Black on Black. Can't wait! Picking it up on Friday 12 plate - no wait as I bought it off the shop floor... Thanks again.

After 5000 mikes 40.1 - 42.3 bits of A12/m25, but a lot of country , keeping a good speed up seems to keep the mpg up, same as my series 3

20d auto - 3000 miles in 5 months. Mostly very short trips from cold. Average around 39mpg.
But did do a trip of 30 miles (warm start) at 60mph and got over 50mpg.

With my low mileage and this so so mpg achievement , I'm thinking of trading for the n20 28i if released for the Uk - a bit more fun, quieter engine, and not a great difference in mpg ?

For what it’s worth ... my dealer clarified when changes to specification can be made ...

A car when ordered goes through 3 stages

1100 – The Initial status given to orders placed that are over 4 weeks away from build.

1200 – Given at 3 weeks or under prior to build date – Build is confirmed by Factory but may take a spec change.

5055 – Car specification now locked car due to start production.

For a more detailed compiled list of codes also see

My dealer sent me a screenshot which shows current event as "5500 Assembly Complete" and that is as of 17/02/2012.

Not sure why the information is not updated since 2 weeks. was hoping it would be making its way through the big pond but no way to really figure out even for the dealer. He's guessing it may arrive in UK in coming 2-3 weeks but that's just a guess.

I'll upload some photos asap.

I feel a driving holiday may be in order.

Congratulations and great pics of your new car X3_About_Time I bet you are well chuffed.

The pic of your instrument dials, shows a MPG dial below the RPM dial. When I test drove the car, it was an M Sport but it had a Efficiency Dynamics dial which was not a manual dial more like an LCD display. Is the dial you have standard for the SE but shows differently in the M Sport or is it different for a manual over an auto?
