I was fuelling up today and noticed that there is a specially designed plug and socket style holding system for storing the fuel filler cap whilst the nozzle is inserted. Is this X3 specific or BMW specific, my previous Audi never had this..

We picked up ours yesterday. Had the usual walkthrough in glorious sunshine. Then drove it home in driving rain and hail. The car felt surefooted and well planted. I must say I was pleased that I stuck with space grey, it really is cracking. The electric tow ball is sweet, especially with the zoom on the rear view camera.

Just another update the dealer made a mistake had a mail today, the car is built he rekons its not due until the beginning of December. He also gave me the Vin.

If you have been give a VIN then it will be on it's way to the boat now or tomorrow, 2/3 weeks and in your hands.

Just been given the Reg and Vin numbers for my car which im told is due in next tuesday!
Im told i can pick up next Saturday! i can not wait

I went from an A3 sportback... your gonna love this car.. I'd be interested in the RTTI to see if you have the latest, was yours a Sep build ?

I have no idea what month it was built i would have thought it would be september as its nearly nov now. Whats the RTTI ?

Does that tell you the month?

I went from an A3 Sportback (2005) to an A5 Coupe (2008) to the X3 and the X3 trumps both of them by a long shot. The A3 had DSG (now called Stronic) and the auto box in the X3 is every bit as good. I just miss my flappy paddles.

nope... you'd need to ask your dealer, but it also says on one of the stickers in the door frame..

yeah.. and the DSG had launch control, dont think the X3 has that.. I never used the paddles, just kept it in sport mode..

Was told by the dealer that my car was delivered to them this morning and that i have to call and get my 7 day free insurance startrd so they can get tax.
pick the car up friday morning.
