Prerelease BMW X3 photos (still masked) officially released by BMW - XBimmers

If you've been reading some of the early reviews of the new BMW X3 that have been posted up by various news outlets so far 1,2, you may have noticed some commonality in their photos. Well thats because they are photos released straight from BMW showing off the still masked off car. This is so stupid, why don't they just show us the vehicle already?

^ If I understand correctly, they vehicle will not be in the US until late next year. Showing production-ready photo's of the vehicle still a year out from being available at dealerships might hurt sales of the current x3. I'm sure they still have a few they need to sell between now and then...

This is the mildest redesign I have ever seen. More like a refresh than a total redesign that BMW does every 7 years to each model.

...and we've got a matter of 12(ish) weeks before it's due to be launched so why worry about impact on old stock in the US market?

Just show us the thing - BMW have released teaser shots, so it can't be beyond the realms of belief that the exterior has been signed off for tooling...
