What's with the black plastic "band" on the rear bumper? It looks out of place, and cheap.

Looks more like a X5, from this angle, in all the good ways! Owned two X3 since '06, along with other bimmers, and will probably get another one down the road. Lots of people complain about X3 being the worst in BMW lineup. Maybe true in terms of drivability. But, for the practicality/utility/value, it's probably the most family-friendly BMW.

IMO: This new Gen X3 is shaping up nicely.

I just wish the X3 rear quarter window was the signature styling touch. It's the only styling aspect that I'm not happy with.
