More info:
Aftermarket GPS Navigation Head Unit is specially designed to upgrade BMW X3(F25)/X4(F26) 2010-2017 factory LCD screen unit and add a DVD player(optional). It has the same plug and harness as factory head unit, totally plug and play. This head unit only replaces the original LCD screen unit and retains the factory FM/CD unit, so the original BMW car computer/CD/FM/AM/Sirius/XM will still work as before.

Vehicles Supported:

BMW X3(F25) 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017
BMW X4(F26) 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018

I went with the AVIN USA model because I wanted Android 7.1 and more RAM. Love it. Best thing I did for my X3. Wish BMW would use it.

Have all the I-Drive stuff and now a full Android unit as well.

It is cheaper than the unit you list.

Hows the navigation on it? I heard good things about AVIN.

I'd like to know if you need to use the AUX port in the arm rest to get audio on the F25. I saw BMW DIY Guy's install and review videos wherein he says that most BMWs need you to run the audio out from the AVIN to the AUX in port in the arm rest to get audio. Evidently, some do not require that connection where audio is natively sent to the head unit.

AVIN requires you to hook it up to cars AUX, if you look at their website they have an option when you "build" your AVIN system to include a split cable for AUX.

I use Waze for navigation. I also installed HeadUnit Emulator from the play store so if I want; I can have android Auto also. I do not use the aux port in the arm rest. Just connected the included wiring harness and moved the fiber optic cables. Get either the car i-drive audio and the android unit audio at the same time if I want. e.g. Radio and then waze announcements.

This is the best upgrade I have done for my X3. Get all the I-Drive BMW stuff and now I get an Android computer too. GREAT.

AVIN USA really need to develop a front facing camera to work with these units that will emulate the BMW night vision/pedestrian detection feature. Even if they retailed at hundreds of £/$, they would sell by the shed load :)

any threads where someone bit the bullet and installed? I had one of these on my e46 m3, it was ok, screen wouldnt get bright enough and i had an issue with bluetooth skipping. was a couple years ago and the OS would skip around, not as smooth as oem. I see a ton of cheap ones on ebay.
