downpipe needed for x4 35i
I want to install a downpipe for my 35i. Does anyone currently have a downpipe installed on their 35i? Or any suggestion where I can get one? I currently have the M performance exhaust installed on my car. Also have a racechip installed. But replacing with a JB4 tomorrow.

I bought and installed a catless downpipes for my X3 from Ultimate Racing about a year now and it's been working great.
http://www.ultimate-racing.com/colle...3-35i-downpipe Seeing as the X3/X4 35i both share the same downpipe part number it should be able to fit your X4. On a side note, since I've gone catless I hear my wastegate rattling like crazy. It affects some N55 owners but I don't think it hampers the performance. Just something to keep in mind.

Nice exhaust - there are few of them
You know there is an early thread: Has anyone....... with video of a Russian X4 being dyno tested. With downpipe. I checked - it is on page 2. -first video - STD exhaust -2:d video, first Sport - then Track -3:d video - dyno. Note black cloud - probably unburned fuel to cool exhausts. FSociety A local car modification shop owner told me he could program the JB4 for me but it will cost $300. I am not sure if I should do it or just use map 1 and map 2. He says he drives an x6 35i and there is no significant difference when running on map 1 and 2.
@Tjalle I saw the thread on that one |

For ex, map1 is for any car even OEM adds a mild boost increase of up to 4psi. Map2 requires 93 octane & preferably downpipes and adds up to 6psi I still say you will have a better more enjoyable drive with Bootmod3 Flash https://www.protuningfreaks.com/pages/bootmod3-faq http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1321857

Chentw, can you confirm fitment of that Brondex downpipe once it's done, please? Their site says it's 89mm, or 3.5" and all EWG N55 are supposedly 4".

All X4 are EWG, X3 2011-2013 are PWG, 14+ X3 are EWG

Prepared to be disappointed with the JB4 on dyno ; 2 of us have done it already a fellow X3 35i member even added meth and made what I made on 93 octane and Flash tune (now) same (Mustang Dyno type) low-reading.

hardparker Just installed it today. The downpipe fits. However, the O2 sensor does not fit on a x4 35i. Luckily JB4 prevented the check engine light for now (not sure if this is true because someone else told me this).

I didnt take a picture of the new downpipe installed in the car. But this is what I got. I think its way too loud. I actually just keeps it in sport mode most of the time.

Yea you'll get use to the sound, downpipe will take the stress away from the turbo too.

Glad to hear it fits. It seems like a pretty nice downpipe. Does the sensor angle make it bump into something? Maybe an right angle anti-fouler would work, if you care.

The O2 sensor was too long and bump into something. I heard burger motorsports sell something that will check off the engine light caused by an aftermarket downpipe. Does someone know what it is called?
I will make a video sometime next week. |
