Only way to get sport seats on LCI is M Sport?
wow, BMW really screwed us on that one!
on our 2012 X3 we got the M Sport because I liked the bumpers much better than any other lines bumpers (plus the nicer steering wheel, black headliner and M Wheels were great). But you could get sport seats on other models (sport and I believe xline). Now the standard and Xline bumpers look much better than before and to some even better than the new M Sport bumpers. BUT the only way to get "sport seats" is to get the M Sport package, there is no option on the standard or xline X3/x4 to get sport seats personally I can't stand the standard seats, the sport seats are much more comfortable. BMW is really trying to force me over to Audi |

Hi from Switzerland,
It seem's that is possible to have sports seats with the X-Line. The mandatory thing is to select "Leather seat". After that, you can choose (or not :-) ) the sport seat's. As long I know, that's the only way to have sport seat...without M Package |

In Europe sports seats are a simple option. I want a 35D....for this I must have an Msport it seems.

I don't understand why BMW make things difficult for their customers?
I want a Deep Sea Blue M Sport, but that color is not available in the M Sport anymore. Second choice is the X Line in DSB, but I want the standard 19" wheels as fitted to the M Sport, but they are not available. So, BMW have spoiled both of my options, leaving me with a compromise to choose. |

Anybody know if they are planning more "lines" ala the 3 series that has Sport, Luxury, Modern and M Sport? Maybe this would be a way of getting sport seats and suspension tuning without the full-on M treatment. It is a long shot since the X5 is not marketed that way in the U.S. I am getting the wife an LCi and would like the sport seats but don't want the M look on the exterior.

Like others I'd love to be able to get the sport seats and paddle shifters without having to purchase the M-sport package as I find the front fascia aesthetically unappealing, actually downright ugly. It's probably worth pointing out again that, in the US, the suspension in the M-sport package is the base suspension. The only alternative suspension is the DHP.

I am also waiting on the Sports seat, with or without M Sport on the 28d =) Giving up the 0-60 performance for long-term gas saver diesel.

I love the sport seats too on my current 2011 X3. Thank god I ordered a M-Sport for my new 2015. I think it looks good in the few pics Ive seen and will look even better in person. If not I will just not give them my check Simple as that

In Canada at least, you can get sport seats and paddle shifters with xLine as standalone upgrades...

Just got back from the NY Auto Show and as stated some posts above the X3 Diesel in the main BMW exhibit does have the sport seats without the M-sport package. I spoke with two BMW reps who indicated that there has been a late change in US packages for the X3 and the sport seats will be available as an option without the M-sport package. I hope this is the case.

It seems to me that BMW's should have the Sport Seats as a stand alone option on every vehicle. Most other countries can order a car with a much higher level of customization, but not the US. I'm told by my rep its because the American Market is mostly leases and BMW is worried about resale. It seems to me this is bogus logic. Anyone buying a used BMW I would think would love Sports Seats in fact It should help resale. I think there should be stand alone options for Seats, Anthracite headliners and Sport Steering wheels.
Also tired of their corporate color pallet. Black, Grey and Silver... The more expensive a BMW gets the more boring the colorist get. Also, since when did M sport buyers want less color choices? We should start a petition.... Just sayin! Having said all that, my next BMW will be an X3. |

If I can't get a brown or red interior on the new one, I will have to go with a 13-14 X3 M Sport X3 instead.

any update on this, as far as I can tell, still need to get M Sport for sport seats, no option on a 28D for sport seats (since there is no M Sport in US).
BMW really needs to offer black headliner and sport seats on ALL models like many other car companies do (okay at least Audi and LR) |
