2016 X3 delivery time from Spartanburg to Canada
Does anybody know how long it takes to ship from Spartanburg to Canada.
Do they ship via rail? or by short sea ro-ro shipping? |

Same here...production started May 4th. That means we should both get it by the end of month. Just wanted some info how to track the car once it left production. Getting impatient!

it shipped today, got dealer delivery date
I called BMW Canada last week on the 7th and they said it would ship on the 8th (the next day, a Friday) or "a couple of days after that" which would be Monday the 10th. I called the dealer today, (and we are the 10th) and it shipped out by train. It is now "unofficially" arriving at the dealer, on the 22nd of May.
This makes it 2 weeks from manufacturing to the Quebec dealer. Does this sound like the average delivery date or have you heard the same stories only to get more of a delay? I will keep you all posted on progress so you can bite your nails along with me. : Last edited by Camarodriver; 05-11-2015 at 07:04 PM.. Reason: spellliin |

I ordered a 2015 from Toronto BMW on February 28th. At the time the order was placed I was advised that 2016's were just around the corner. This was confirmed a couple of weeks later on March 17. Because I was given the option an order for a 2016 was placed on that date. The vehicle arrived at the dealer on May 8th. I'm picking it up this Thursday, May 14th. In my case delivery took just over eight weeks.

Delivery time!
Picking up my brand new 2016 BMW X3 xdrive28i today!
The car was on hold at the CN yard for over 10 days, something about waiting on release paper. Now I know exactly how they deliver from Spartanburg to Montreal and I can't believe how fast it was until the on hold situation. Ordered the car on April 23th Went into production on May 4th Left production on May 9th Left Spartanburg via CN rail on May 11th Arrive at CN yard (Montreal) on May 17th Sat there collecting dust until the 28th When you get your VIN number or production number from your CA (little tip, when you get your VIN number go to www.bmwvin.com and get the full spec of your car to make sure nothing is missing from your custom order) Call BMW Canada 1-800-567-2691 Give the the last 6 digits of your VIN or production number. You will get your production date. You can keep calling everyday to find out which stage the car is at. When the car leaves the manufacturing plant, they can no longer track it. You call your dealer to get the rail car number. Then you call a company called CSX that allows a person to track a rail car number. Their phone number is 800-235-2352. When you call and the automated voice answers, say location. it will then ask you for the rail car's initials which will be "TTGX" or something like that. It will then ask you for the rail car number and that is when you speak the numeric digits. The next step is to say done and it will tell you where the rail car is or was today. Once the car arrives, you visit the Hansen's site at www.lhf.com Type in the VIN number in the vehicle tracking field. When the car is in their system, you will see the pick up date and delivery date. The status starts with active, dispatch, en route, to delivered or on hold just like my case. That is when you call your dealer and get a priority on it. Which I did and they picked up the car at the train yard which is 5 minutes away from the dealership. So in the end it took a little over 2 weeks from production to delivery, if all goes well. Hope this is useful for the one's who's been trying to find out about this. |
