Drove this, 2007 335i until early November when I got my X3. I also have a 2010 Ford Flex Ecoboost that my wife drives mostly, although that might change now that she is in love with my X3.
Before the 335, I drove a 2007 Subaru Legacy GT. Great car. Lot's of other cars before the Legacy. Flex |

the X3 replaces a 1997 E320 (W210). Had to put down the old beast. Drivetrain was still running strong but the rest of the car was getting pretty tired.

Previous Drive
My last drive was a 2008 Honda Element 4wd, great little vehicle, very loud inside. My X3 28i is silent in comparison, and now my clients can hear me on my hands free device!

2001 Acura MDX - Great car for almost 11 years. The only complaint I had was lound wind/road noise. My X3 is just a little bit better in the wind/road noise department.

Our 2011 X3 replaced a 2006 X3 that we purchased new. We liked our 2006, and it served us well, but the 2011 is a much more refined vehicle.
The 2006 was firm, and the 2011 is smooth, but I feel our 2011 outcorners the 2006 in addition to having a smoother ride and a much more responsive drive train. Bruce |

The E60 5(pic below) was traded in on the X3 & will be greatly missed. The X3 is a great car but lacks a few of the creature comforts of the 5.
Examples: 1)Only front door handles have comfort access ability 2)Only driver seat has memory settings 3)The thigh extender is manual instead of power 4)Miss a spare tire even if it is just a space saver spare On the plus note the Top View Camera is awesome, love the new bluer color of the angel eyes, the iDrive is improved(never had a problem with the old one as some did), Navigation is faster loading, more voice commands, like the new steering wheel button layout, it has functional cup holders(I know BMW's are made for driving not carrying a soda), good rear leg room for it's class. Present: 2012 BMW XDrive 35i MSport 2011 Mercedes Benz GL550 1997 Panoz AIV Roadster Past: 2008 BMW 535i Sport w/Full MTech Body Kit, BMW Performance Black Grills, Carbon Fiber Front Splitters, Custom Carbon Fiber Rear Valance, Dinan Exhaust - Sold 2004 BMW 325i Sport - Sold 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 V8 - Totaled 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country - Sold

2002 Isuzu Rodeo LS
No complaints with the Isuzu. Great rig and served us well. Certainly not sporty handling like the X3 or as nice. Wife and I are approaching retirement and thought we should treat ourselves to a high end SUV...I mean SAV. We won't actually get it until next week but my wife said of all the test drives we did (Audi Q5, Lexus RX35, Infiniti FX35, BMW X3) I had the biggest smile during the BMW X3 test drive.

replaced a 2004 Nissan Quest SE with about 120K miles on it. it was starting to leak, had gotten smashed in the rear, things were falling apart on it... Plus wifey wanted something smaller. This is definitely smaller..
