Question 17" rim clearance?

A shout out to all who are using 17" rims for winter tires:

I have a set of old 17" rims and looks like it cleared the front calipers by about 1/8 to 3/16 inch. Before committing to buy 225/60 r17 winter tires, does anyone have any issues or problems driving with their 17" rims? thanks

I've been running 17" wheels for over 3 years without any issues. Yes the clearance for my 17" 306 style wheels is tight - maybe 1/4" over the brake calipers. I've got a 30d X3 but I'm assuming the brake discs and calipers etc should be much the same for the 35i.

Since the F25 was launched here in Australia in 2011, 17" wheels were standard on the lower-engine variants (the 20d and 20i) and available as an option on the 28i and 30d. However I did notice recently when I was looking at the LCI X3 that 17" wheels are no longer an option for the higher-engine variants (at least here in Oz).
