Attaching a rear facing convertible car seat?
We got the Britax Pavillion convertible car seat and have installed it rear facing the middle of the back seat (LATCH'd it). It's ok but there is also a "versa tether" which is essentially a tether on the seats back (behind child's head) and is supposed to be anchored to the floor. ("A" in attachment)
On the X3, I couldn't find any such floor anchor, not could I "make one" using their tether connector. Does anyone have ideas? I'd hate to turn the seat front facing because tear facing is safer and my kid still has time in that configuration. I've also attached a photo of the Britax manual regarding this. I'm trying to achieve the configuration in top left (A), have tried B but its a major pain to get the baby in-out. |

I mounted the Britax on one of the outboard seats and attached the other end of the floor anchor to the springs under the front seat. You just need to make sure that nobody adjusts the front seat.
