hi gerem,

I placed my order on Feb 23. Was given a slot for beginning of April. Car was completed production by April 2nd. Still waiting for delivery. Was given an ETA of mid-May but should be here before end of April.

Wow it takes that long to transport it. Kinda shocking, didn't think it would take that long

It takes so long because he is in Canada. In the States, it is quick unless you are on the West Coast which can take a week or two. I'm in Michigan and my X3 was finished on July 2nd and it was delivered to the dealer on July 3rd!

You won't get a video until the car is complete. They actually show it being driven off the assembly line at the end. Sometimes you will have your vehicle in hand before your video arrives in your inbox.

I realized he was in Canada when I wrote that I was still shocked that it would take over/nearly a month to just get it across the border.

And now comparing it to your one day between production end and delivery that month seems rough.

Not sure why it's slower to Canada especially the east side (Montreal is 30 miles from the US/Can border). Perhaps they wait until a certain number of vehicles need to ship to a particular location. I'm sure customs adds some delay as well. Actually I'd love to hear from other Canadian buyers that have gone or are going through the experience.

Thanks for the info etelbot.

I placed my order on march 19th (BMW Canbec in MTL) and the ETA is also mid-May...I guess we'll get one big train full of BMW for Canadian dealers.

Update: dealer just called to tell me my car arrived today. Dealer needs a couple of days for prep, so im picking it up on Tuesday. So from production completion to delivery took about 3 weeks. Hopefully this provides a point of reference for other Canadian buyers (at least on the east coast).

Timing couldn't have been better for me... I just sold my car yesterday and will be relying on my motorcycle for transportation until the car comes in. It has been a mild winter and dry spring up until now but I'm fairly confident we'll get plenty of rain in the next couple of weeks.

Ordered in early March, went into production around April 4th, and available in Northern California dealer yesterday. Picked up today.

It was the 2nd N20 delivered to the west coast, according to dealer.

lbjgh, you are quite correct but it not so much the speed of delivery we get worked up about (extra 10days+ for shipping ex USA expected), but the time from order to build. My build start date was 2ndApil and its at dealers now and collecting 25th April-just 3weeks. However, the order was placed 17 November, so around 19 weeks to allocate a build spot!
Anyway, congrats and enjoy when you get it
