Ordered on March 7th, car built and waiting for me!

I placed my order on Monday March 7th and today was shocked to find out that it's already built and waiting for me at the Processing Center for Performance Center delivery!

Too bad I won't be able to pick it up for several weeks, but I'm happy that it will be waiting for me on my scheduled delivery day!

I checked off almost every box for a 28i. I ordered every package except M Sport, and also ordered the optional sound system and satellite radio. It's Sparkling Bronze/Tan.

Props to Mark Carvalho at JMK for coming through for me once again!

Congrats! That seems like a really fast turn around given other comments given in this forum. You are going to love your new X3 and the color option sounds great not to mention the premium sound system.

Congrats! Your situation is gonna drive the poor UK and other non-US buyers nuts! Suggest you plan ahea to share some pics with them while they suffer the long wait!! Look forward to you experiences with it.

So that's why we have to wait so long in the UK. My midlifecrisis will be well into retirement by the time I get my car.

When Spartenburg have finished practising on the LH drives, could they please start producing the real quality cars for UK

3 weeks!! I had a cancelation spot and it's still 4-5 month wait in the UK. 10 month plus for most.

Joking aside, do you think there might be some truth to that

I comforted myself in deciding to wait for the 3.0D (which are due to start production in a couple of days!) - by telling myself that any problems they discovered with the brand spanking new X3, will mostly be ironed out within the first 6 months of production and all sorted out for the >April production runs!

Do you think BMW will be addressing, potential problems and resolving them so soon, or will all the cars of same spec. be identical in say the first year off the production line??

Doubt they'll do any fixes at manufacture time unless someone uncovers a serious problem. The next face lift model will probably include quite a few tweaks though. Judging by this forum, I don't think any of the reported problems will result in an immediate change. Maybe a bit more time will be spent on Quality Control

The one exception to this might be the scary warning that some of the US guys have had demanding the car is returned to the dealer immediately.

So that's a double-win for you guys. Most X1s look fugly although I've seen a couple that look kind of nice ... not sure if they have an Msport kit or something and colour seems to make a huge difference.

The majority look like a 3 series that's been on a high carb diet or an old school X3 that's been suffering with dysentery for 6 months.
