X3 - Adaptive LED useful in urban environments?

So, per last message - just about to spec my new X3, and I'm wondering about adaptive LED lights.

Now - I'm a pure urban driver - I do maybe 500 miles a year outside the city on Motorways/Freeways - most of the roads I drive on are well lit year round.

So I'm wondering - do I need adaptive led lights. I mean, they look funky - but I don't need the "Voodoo lights" feature as I'm not in the country driving in the dark.

Anyone have this feature mainly in an urban environment - and if so, do you think it's worthwhile ?

Comments, thoughts and suggestions welcome.

I seem to recall that the adaptive LED lights had a "continental" option in iDrive. Not sure if the regular ones do. When you select that option the headlamps are optimized for driving in the right hand side of the road.

I got to be honest with you.....

I included the adaptive LED headlights just because it looks cool!
I don't like the "old gen" look of the simple rings of the non-adaptive LED lights.

Any functional benefit is a bonus

Me too! I've noticed they attract a lot of attention. Lot of reasons actually to opt for the Exec pack. However time is marching on. The new A7 for instance.

meh, Audi doesn't really have a 'signature' design for their lights do they?

I prefer these

Your right I guess on the DRL’s. I was impressed overall.with the new lighting tech on the A7’s front headlight array, the animated taillights, and the all LED dash and console display/controls. Curious though on the practicality of that new interior setup.
