I'm replacing my cabin filter and the arrow on the filter must match the direction of the airflow. I can't tell which was is right

they have arrows to indicate airflow.

but up or down?

the arrow points towars the front of the car, is it ok?

My 2011 looks nothing like that and is changed in the engine bay.
The arrow should point toward the cleaner side of the old ones you took out.

edited: This is the recalculation filter I assume. I didn't know there were 2 difference filter systems. not sure on arrow direction, I would put in the same direction they came out. Were they very dirty? I need to check mine now....
