BMW X3 2012 mod pulling to right
I have a BMW X3 2.0 d 2012 mod that has recently begun to pull to the the right. It has 18 "Pirelli runflat tires and it started some days after I changed from my Continental winter tyres that are non-runflat All check ups have been done like 4-wheel control and everything is ok.
If I have the steering wheel centered in the middle it goes to the left, therefore the steering wheel is not quite right, it is a little to the right when I let go. It is so annoying that I'm on long trips get hurt in one wrist because I constantly have to work (pull steering wheel to the left) to get the car to go straight. Have been in contact with BMW dealer who has agreed to replace these runflat tires. But I'm just afraid that something else is wrong. Is there anyone who has been involved in issues like this with newer X3, ie problems with the steering parts? |

X3 Pulling Right
After 2 years, 4 alignments, replacing front springs etc, the pulling has finally been corrected. I own a 2011 X3 3.5, M-sport. What finally happened was I asked if the BMW road service representative would drive the car on his next visit to the dealership. When he drove the car he confirmed that more work was needed to correct the pulling. Here is a summary after his visit:
Cause: Right front camber adjustment needed. Installed new steering knuckle on passenger front side and performed alignment after install. No longer pulls. Part numbers 1 31-21-6-857-414 swivel bearing, camber CORRE: 311010 4 31-20-6-793-510 collar screw, MICRO-ENCAPSUL:31950 Hope this helps point your BMW service dealer in the right direction. |

Pulls to the right
We had the same problem with our 2012 X3 when it was new. After checking tire pressures, switching tires from right to left sides, realignment, etc. and nothing helping, the dealer finally got BMW to approve replacing some component of the front suspension or the steering mechanisms. Not sure what it was, but it fixed the problem.
