Just ordered a Vermillion Red one!

Hi all,
After much delibeation our next family mobile will be a new 2011 X3 2.8 V-Red/Black.
We should have it in 3-4 weeks
Goes into production this week (good timing)

It's replacing our 09 e91.
Little more room and softer ride than our current wagon.
I'm sorry to see our wagon go, but this red devil will be softer riding and a bit bigger for the family.
My wife loved the V-Red, so it made the Bimmer win out over some of the other contenders.
I love the Navi screen and the new finishes are a plus.
I'm really more of a Benz guy currently, but my wife liked this so we got it!
I'll post pics when it arrives.
Any questions feel free.

Couldn't agree more
I also know that I have to live with her

Thanks for all of the well wishing--it will definitely be the fastest special ordered car I've ever owned.

Congrats on joining the very exclusive Vermillion Red Club.

Not content with having "just" a X3 in the supurb VR color, I added the even more exclusive BMW Salvador Dali Body kit (currently special, special order and on a 13 month back order schedule except in England where the "sliding" back order delivery is always 6 months from the present date) The attached pic hardly does it justice.

You will love your VR X3!

Your pics helped get the VR for my wife.
I showed her your pics and she loved it.
My dealer had two VRs the day I visited him(presold of course)so I was able to see it in person.
looks brighter red in person.
It reminded my wife of her chili red mini she had when we met.
BTW my salesman said our VR was his fifth one in the past month
Cool color, but if it was totally up to me it would have been black, but I'm boring like that
I picked the last two colors from our last two cars for her, so I figured she could get the red this time around, I just hope the cops leave us alone, especially when I'm driving

Why did you replace your 09 for an 11 model? 2 year old car....did it give you issues of some kind or just got bored and wanted a new car?

The 09 was 328xi wagon, not another X3, not sure if this was clear.
Anyway, the wagon was great, no issues at all, but it was a harsh ride over bumps and potholes.
Plus we're adding another kid to the family, for a total of two.
So the X3 was a little bigger and a bit more comfortable.
Plus, my wife was tired of bending over to put our two year old in the car seat.
And I think my wife was a little jealous of my AMG I got back in the Fall.
The wagon is also approaching 50K miles so it was time for brakes, extended warranty, etc. or go new--I'm a huge fan of the wagons and tried to get my wife an E wagon, but she wanted none of it
The X3 saved me over $10k so it's more for my toy box
I'm a car person and tend to get new cars often.
I hope my American made bimmer is as good as the three other German ones I've owned in the past.

Caught me off guard! I thought your X3 was drinking from the same fountain as this gem over here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_bQ0SqifjNc...re-after-2.jpg

Welcome to the Vermilion (on order) club. Lotus7's pics really cemented my decision.

As a side note, I visited my dealer this weekend and they had one in the showroom. It was a 28i with Oyster interior. People were climbing all over, I could barely get close to it. If it had had more options, I would have thrown my hat in the ring for it as well. I'm thinking it had to be an order that didn't work out. Vermilion is a special-order color I believe.

Thank you.
Every color is special order where I live--no dealers had anything for sale in stock.
They told me they have to keep one 2.8 and one 3.5 in stock as test drivers for customers.
As I think I said earlier, my dealer has sold a total of five VR this month alone--I have a feeling this is going to be a hot color you're going to see a lot of (not saying its going to best tiag or black) but it will become popular because it's different.
Congrats to you too

it is a great color. Every time I drive the car I still think it is one of the best all-around vehicles I've ever owned and driven. comfort, performance, features. tough to beat.
